In order to produce the best fruit, we take care of the land using holistic farming practices:
It’s all about the soil! We use no till to maintain and increase the micro-organisms which promote vine health and contribute to terroir. No till also conserves water by minimizing water run-off. We use cover crops to build up soil organic matter and provide nutrients to the vines.
We work with nature to protect the grapes! We plant hedgerows to attract beneficial insects to combat and control harmful insects. BirdGard natural bird calls reduce bird grape damage and minimize the use of bird netting which can trap birds – this makes both the birds and us happy. We have owl boxes on property to bring in barn owls for natural gopher and rodent control.
Green practices for the environment! We have solar panels to generate our electrical needs through renewable energy. We mulch our vineyard roads to control dust and eliminate water erosion.
John’s love of Rhône varietals is displayed in our wine portfolio and he constantly strives to make only the highest quality wine. Our winemaking team consists of John and consulting winemaker, Kian Tavakoli. Together they craft our wines vintage after vintage using their amazing palettes and blending skills.
The grapes used in our wines are primarily estate grapes that are grown with holistic farming practices that provide an ultimate expression of terroir. Our vineyards feature Rhône varietals Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Petite Sirah grapes. We also are privileged to source grapes from prominent California vineyards including Durell, Gap’s Crown and Catie’s Corner.
Our wines are made in a state-of-the-art facility and aged in French Oak barrels.
